Happy dinosaurs, not scary ones
Plenty of dinosaur pictures online are realistic and a bit fierce. These are the opposite: five gentle dino friends who go on picnics, splash about and play together. They suit younger kids who love dinosaurs but do not want anything frightening at bedtime.
The outlines are thick and the spaces are large, so a child can color neatly with crayons or markers and finish a page without help.
How to print them at home
Open the PDF and choose your normal printer. Pick US Letter paper and "fit to page" if your printer asks, so nothing gets cut off at the edges.
Plain copy paper is fine for crayons and colored pencils. If you like markers, heavier paper or light card stock stops the ink from bleeding through. Print one side only, so each picture has a clean back.
- You can print the same page again as often as you like for your own home.
- Printing in black and white is all you need. The pages are line art.
- On a phone, save the PDF first, then print it from your files app.
Fun ideas for dinosaur fans
Coloring pages can be the start of a bigger game. Here are a few easy ideas that need nothing more than the printed page and a few crayons.
- Give each dinosaur a name and make up a short story about its day.
- Cut out the finished dinosaur and glue it onto a big sheet to build a dino world.
- Use the pages at a dinosaur birthday party as a calm table activity.
- Ask your child which colors they think dinosaurs really were. Nobody knows for sure!
