Made for first-time colorers

Young children color with their whole arm, not just their fingers. Small spaces are frustrating at that age, so these pictures use bold lines and large areas that are easy to fill with a chunky crayon.

Each page has one friendly character or a simple scene and plenty of white space around it. There are no tiny details to get lost in, which helps a child finish a page and feel proud of it.

How to print them at home

Open the PDF and choose your normal printer. Pick US Letter paper and "fit to page" if your printer asks, so nothing gets cut off at the edges.

Plain copy paper is fine for crayons and colored pencils. If you like markers, heavier paper or light card stock stops the ink from bleeding through. Print one side only, so each picture has a clean back.

You can print the same page again as often as you like for your own home.
Printing in black and white is all you need. The pages are line art.
On a phone, save the PDF first, then print it from your files app.

Simple ways to use them

Coloring is a nice quiet-time activity before a nap, at the kitchen table while dinner cooks, or on a long car ride with a clipboard.

Name the colors together as your child picks them, a gentle way to practise color words.
Let them decorate the finished page with stickers or cotton-wool snow.
Print one page a day in December as a little countdown activity.
Hang the finished pictures on the fridge or send one to a grandparent.
